Emergency/back-up Lighting Every Fiber Optic LED Lighting System (FOLLS)application can be enhanced with a rechargeable battery backup system to provide continuous light when conventional power is disrupted for up to ten hours and, when required, for up to twenty hours or more. In commercial buildings it is ideal for elevators, bathrooms, conference rooms, break rooms and any other interior room where multiple people congregate and are plunged into total darkness when normal power fails. For buildings with a power backup system for selected circuits, adding the exceptionally low power requirements of a FOLLS to circuit adds little to load on the generator while significantly increasing the volume of lighted area.
